When we think of cats, we often do not realize that they have some significance in a particular lifestyle or world view. The way they present themselves, their behavior, and how they make those around them feel. Cats can be silly, unpredictable, cunning, and mischievous. But also they flow with life like water flows down a stream. Instead of forcing themselves through the rock, they frequently just simply go around it. Cats do not concern themselves with what is right and what is wrong like us humans, and since we developed morality, or perhaps it was bestowed upon us, we tend to see things differently than our feline friends.
Cats are very indifferent to life, unlike us. We are typically searching to be higher beings, or to make life better for ourselves or those around us. Cats are simply satisfied with being cats. Is it our ability to think critically or our self realization that causes us to want to be greater? Why not be satisfied with what we are, and who we are? Some say ignorance is bliss, and maybe cats are simply ignorant. But at the same time, there can be quite a handful to learn from these peculiar animals. It can also be quite humbling, if I say so myself.
Cats are capable of love and affection. They are not immoral or without ethics like some may think due to their odd or sometimes violent nature. But really they can be very loving towards other animals and their owners as well. They also do not rely on stories like we humans do. They only know what their instincts provide and what is immediately in their surroundings. Not only that, but they simply care about what may be beneficial to them. You could almost say they are a direct antithesis to the idea of Philosophy itself. They are much more primal in their thinking and actions.
How can we learn from our feline friends, or even the ever so prideful lions? Well, I'd say it humbles us to search within ourselves. Cats show us that you can go without much and be happier than ever before.
Of course, we are two different beings and have different ways of thinking. But it does not hurt to learn from creatures we share this Earth with? These animals act as their own individuals without a care in the world, and are still capable of so much more than meets the eye.
Thank you for taking the time to read, dear reader. I'd highly recommend this video from a YouTuber who inspired this particular topic for me. And all of his other videos are great as well!
